Our bakery recently got an opportunity to supply products to a regional supermarket chain but they are asking detailed questions about safety compliance that honestly caught us off guard. During the meeting they mentioned gfsi food safety standards and now I am trying to understand how important this certification really is for smaller food businesses. Is it something companies genuinely prioritize or just another industry requirement that looks good on paper? Would love to hear from people who have gone through the process.
